Los Angeles, CA (November, 2013) - North Carolina rock band Sumerlin is proud to announce their new single, "Breaking Out" off their upcoming album, "Runaways" set to release on February 4th with DREAM Records. The group has finished their highly anticipated album and the iTunes pre-order will begin on December 17th just in time for Christmas! Fans will be able to download their first single, "Breaking Out" with the pre-order.

We got a chance to ask the band about the single, "Breaking Out" as well as the recording of their new album. Check out what they had to say!

"The process for this record was an entirely new one for us. We were used to writing for EP's and had to stretch quite a bit. With a full length you're writing a lot more and frequenting the studio a lot more. It can be a bit much to get used to but we did just that. We fell into a groove and just rolled with it. We recorded the album at Sound Barn Studios with John Harrell (Sent By Ravens, Set It Off). John has worked with us since our first two release's. He's become a great friend - he knows how to push us day in and day out. Brad Blackwood (Maroon 5, Anberlin) mastered the album - we have worked with Brad on singles before but it's great to have him as a part of this record. All in all it was a great experience for us! We're more than excited release this album and bringing it to your ears. Thanks for listening!"

"Breaking Out' is about being consumed by fleshly desires and allowing God to break us out of that 'cell' and to live for Him. It's easy to get trapped in a situation where you pour yourself abundantly and wastefully into something - much like the negative relationship between the two people in this song. Finally realizing that you need God to break you out of it is the only thing you need." - Sumerlin
